My description …
The title tells the potential reader so much. It’s a conspiracy. It takes place in Colorado. And … whoever is investigating is undercover. The man and woman undercover are posing as a military man and his wife. They are, in fact, Army Military Investigators. This is not their first mission together. They are very good at what they do. Is this adoption agency legit or crooked as a dog’s hind leg which is what is suspected? And has their undercover which took months to set up already been blown? Someone or is it more than one person wants them dead?
My review …
Thalia Renner and Phillip Campbell have some hidden “baggage” that they haven’t shared. The security officer at Stardust Adoption is suspicious of them from the first meeting. Is he a good guy or a bad guy? They can’t quit. There’s no “get out of jail free” card for this mission. What about the couple that runs Stardust Adoption? Who are they?
This one starts on page one which pulls you into the book immediately. And other than the above paragraph, I’m giving you nothing else except this is a Christian-based story. It is not preachy. Phillip trusts God and you will have to read the story to learn why Thalia doesn’t. But they are a good team.
This is my first book by author Jodie Bailey and if this is any example of her writing, I’ll be reading more. Undercover Colorado Conspiracy is another book I found hard to put down before doing some hausfrau thing. But I loved her ending to “Dear Reader” at the end of the book. “Please take this away from this book…no matter who you are, where you are, or what you’ve been through, God knows your name. He loves you.” I know it is hard to believe when you feel that God has left you, but God did not leave. You left God. He is just waiting for you to open your heart.
I received a complimentary DRC (digital review copy) of Undercover Colorado Conspiracy via NetGalley from the publisher, Harlequin – Romance, Love Inspired Suspense. A positive review was not required; the opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.
