Description in my words …
Two people who are struggling to feel comfortable in their new circumstances. Martha Eicher took care of her widowed father & two sisters. Now all are married and she no longer feels enjoyable living with her dad and new wife. Even her best friend is getting married in a week. She feels like a fish out of water. Asher Lantz, a bachelor, now father to his niece & three nephews, is struggling to balance taking care of the farm, workshop AND four preschoolers.
Asher needs someone to take care of the children and his home. Martha needs to move away from home. And you guessed it, Martha steps in to help. Asher feels awkward … until he doesn’t.
My review …
I am SO late with this review … there were reasons why I couldn’t complete it before its publication date of 25 Apr 2023. This is the third in the ‘Hope’s Haven’ series; I reviewed book 2, Her Amish Springtime Miracle, last year for NetGalley.
Her Amish Patchwork Family is beautifully paced. Engaging throughout the read. I finally got this book read in November. The characters are rich and their actions — even when you don’t like them — are in keeping with the plot and scene. Asher certainly did have his hands full with four preschoolers as well as his other commitments. Martha having been a schoolteacher knew how to corral four little ones. Personally, I think I would be hairless.
If you haven’t read Her Amish Patchwork Family, add it to your reading list. Tell Santa. This is a lovely read. While this is book 3 of a series, it can stand alone. And, by the way, I have added the author Winnie Griggs to my fav Amish authors list.
I received a complimentary DRC (digital review copy) of “Her Amish Patchwork Family” via NetGalley from the publisher, Forever (Grand Central Publishing), Forever. A positive review was not required; the opinions expressed are entirely my own.
Rating: 5 stars
Series: Hope’s Haven #3
Cover: Nice — the hot pink doesn’t quite fit. A dark green, dark blue, or black would be easier to read, especially the small print.
