This book is based on the Bible story of Isaac and Rebecca and is the first in a series based on Bible stories. Becky does want to marry but only if the marriage is within Der Herr’s will.
You will enjoy how Becky and Isaac find each other.
I have shied away from these Amish romance Bible-based books. The reason wasn’t that I thought the authors would distort or even change the essence of God’s word. Frankly, I just wasn’t comfortable with the idea. And after reading this book, my “comfortable” feelings haven’t changed even though the author took great care in writing An Amish Reward. So I won’t be continuing the series.
However, that does not mean other readers have the same opinion. This book and the series do have a rightful place in the literary world. They just aren’t my “cup of tea”.
Rating: 4 stars. Minus 1 star — the story as written just didn’t stay with me probably due to my “comfort” level.
